Picture Window Replacement for Dallas Homes
Large, fixed windows that frame the view and fill the room with light — built to your exact opening and installed to stay sealed through Texas summers.
The most glass, the cleanest view.
A picture window doesn't open, which is exactly its strength: no sashes, no meeting rails, nothing between you and the view.
Uninterrupted view
One large pane with slim framing gives the widest, clearest sightline of any window style.
More daylight
Maximum glass area brings more natural light into living rooms, stairwells and great rooms.
Tight seal
With no operating parts, there are fewer places for air and dust to work their way in.
Pairs with other styles
Flank a picture window with casements or sliders when you also want fresh air.
Big glass needs the right glass package.
A large pane takes in a lot of sun. Low-E glass is designed to reflect part of that heat and reduce UV fading.
Multi-pane glass with an insulating gas fill is designed to slow heat moving through the window.
Vinyl doesn't conduct heat the way aluminum does, which matters around a large opening.
Big units are heavy. Proper support, shimming and sealing keep them square and weathertight.
Performance varies by product, by home and by how the home is used. We review the actual product ratings with you rather than promising a specific result.

We'll help you decide where a fixed window makes sense and where you'll want ventilation.
Living and family rooms
The classic spot — a focal window facing the yard or the street.
Stairwells and two-story entries
Hard-to-reach openings that rarely need to open anyway.
Above or beside other windows
Transoms and combination units that add light around operable windows.
Replacing old fixed aluminum units

Picture window questions.
Can a picture window open?
No — a picture window is fixed. If you want airflow, we can combine it with operable windows such as casements or sliders on either side.
Will a large picture window make my room hotter?
Large glass does take in more sun, which is why the glass package matters. Low-E glass is designed to reduce solar heat gain, and we review actual product ratings for the exposure of that opening.
Can you make my existing picture window bigger?
Sometimes. Enlarging an opening involves structural and exterior work, so we evaluate it during the consultation and explain what's involved before you decide.
How do I clean a picture window?
Fixed glass doesn't tilt in, so exterior cleaning is done from outside. Ground-floor units are usually simple; we'll talk through placement for upper floors.
Do you offer financing?
Meridian offers financing options for qualified homeowners. Financing is subject to credit approval and lender terms, and available programs, rates, promotional periods and payments may vary. Meridian Window Co. does not make credit decisions — final terms are provided by the third-party lender.
